Argentine Subway Union Threatens General Strike Against Labor Reform

Buenos Aires, Feb 17 (NA) – The executive secretary of the Union Association of Subway and Premetro Workers (AGTSyP), Claudio Dellecarbonara, issued a stern warning against the labor reform promoted by President Javier Milei. He stated that if the bill is debated this Thursday, there will be a total strike on all six Subway and Premetro lines from 0 to 24 hours. "Down with the regressive labor reform," expressed the union leader, who described the initiative as "disastrous" and "enslaving," and confirmed full support for the mobilization and all actions against the approval of this "libertarian counter-reform."

From the union, they announced they will push forward with the struggle plan and did not rule out preparing a general strike of indefinite duration to stop what they consider "an anti-worker attack by the government and its accomplices."

The warning anticipates a scenario of high union conflict in case the project advances in Congress, according to the Argentine News Agency (NA).
